The Firestone brand was distributed through the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. The Firestone Tire Company sold outboards under the Champion brand from 1939 - 1942. These were produce for Champion, by a small Tool and Punch Press company owned by C.E. Scott and H.B. Atwater of Minneapolis, Minnesota. After World War II the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company contracted with the newly formed Scott-Atwater Company. The Firestone brand of outboard appeared in 1946 and were manufactured by the " Scott-Atwater" Company through 1959. McCulloch purchased "Scott-Atwater" in 1956 and continued the contract with Firestone until 1959.
The Firestone contract was given to West Bend in 1960 and they produced the outboard through 1962. This was the last year that Firestone offered a full engine line.
From 1963 through 1965 Firestone only offered a 5 horsepower made by Clinton. This outboard was called a Firestone Featherweight.
Discount Marine Parts has one of the largest inventory of Scott-Atwater and McCulloch parts in the U.S. A few years back, we purchased all of the remaining factory parts from the McCulloch distributor in Arizona. We still have large quantities of most common wear parts, Gears, Pistons, Ignition, Carb Kits, Gaskets, etc. We have parts and service manuals for all models. We also have all the manuals for all brands made by Scott-Atwater and McCulloch. Being a Chrylser outboard dealer since 1972, we also have a very large inventory of West Bend and Chrysler parts.
Having most the original parts for Scott-Atwater and McCulloch, means we also have most of the parts for those brands manufactured by these two companies. This list includes brands like Corsair, Elgin, Firestone, Hiawatha, Sears, Ted Williams, Wizard and more.
