The Tanaka Outboard motor was manufactured from 1977 - 2001 in Japan and marketed in the U.S. through those years. Motors were sold with the Tanaka name as well as other brand names. Outboards were sold through dealerships and department stores. The outboards offen carried the name AquaBug or SuperBug.Hard core parts for these outboards are getting more difficult to find as time goes on. Many older outboards used common Ignition and Carburetor venders for that period. Discount Marine Parts has Ignition and Carburetor repair kits for most all of these older outboards.
